Here is the announcement I have been itching to make for a while now. I am involved in this great project, writing a chapter in the round robin book, with proceeds going to the Stan Lee Foundation. Read the details here:

A Case of Faith
A Paul King Mystery
Faith Masterson- age, 18. Heir to the Masterson Electric Boat company fortune. Tall, elegantly dressed in hues of black and red, always with large black sunglasses to hide her eyes. Long, black hair. Blood red lipstick. A wry and knowing smile easily escapes her lips. Smokes and drinks from a flask.
Faith enters Paul’s office one morning when he is nursing a headache from a beating he took on a previous case, compounded by a night on his office couch due to binge drinking. She has re-entered his life after being a client 7 years ago. Well, her wealthy father, submarine magnate Dizzy Masterson, had been the client. Faith had been kidnapped from her boarding school and, as a favor to Masterson’s father-in-law (Paul’s neighbor), he had tracked Faith down. She had been taken by her aunt Lexi Masterson, whose gambling problems had led her to a desperate move.
Now Faith’s father is missing at sea, and about to be declared legally dead. His fortune is to be divided among his heirs, but someone seems to be taking them out. Faith’s half sister Barb is already in a coma, and she comes into Paul’s office, fresh from a beating that was only broken up by the timely intervention of a passing priest. Now Faith needs protection, and someone to investigate the mysterious circumstances of her father’s death and the attacks on her and her siblings.
But, as Paul agrees to get involved, it is clear she has more on her mind than just protection. Paul recognizes a fellow wounded soul and, after spending countless hours in her company, begins to develop feelings for her. But can she be trusted? Is she telling him the truth about her life, the circumstances and, most of all, her feelings for Paul?

Just a quick update on the writing front. I am currently working on a tale "Falling," which is inspired by a classic short story, which I won't reveal for fear of giving away important plot points of the story.
In addition, I am working on another story, "Upstairs," which is inspired by a classic film. See, here I am getting inspiration from all over the place!
Finally, I am putting the finishing touches on the not-quite named Sci Fi novel that I have been working on over the last few months. I'll post more information on that later. As for the short stories, well, look for those to appear for the first time in a self-published anthology that will be coming out in ebook form soon.
More details to come, and more projects in the hopper. Stay tuned in this space for more...

So it stands for "weB Log" but other than that, I don't really see a consensus about what a blog should be. Should it be short and pithy? Or can it have in depth analysis? Can it report the news, or is it purely commentary? Must it have a coherent theme, or can the author go hither as well as yon? What do YOU think a blog should be? And do you have any suggestions as to what you'd like to see on this one?

I am just finishing the final edits for the Misty Johnson short story that will appear in Seven Realm's upcoming anthology, The Game. It is a collection of short stories inspired by Richard Connell's classic short story "The Most Dangerous Game." It includes contributions from 7R authors like Kent Holloway and Sean Ellis, as well as many others. The anthology is due out next month. In the meantime, keep an eye on this space. I'll be revealing the title of my entry, as well as some details about its contents and maybe even the inspiration behind the story. Oh, and that contest I mentioned on Facebook a while ago? Be on the lookout for tht bad boy, too...
