A few quick hits to wrap up my wrap-up of NYCC:
- Kirkman was a highlight. Funny, self-deprecating, smart and gracious, he was a hit on panels and signings.
- Met lots of cool people in lines, including Rich from Aggressive Comix and Dave from I Am a Stuffed Animal. Dave's site is so cool, I am going to do a ton of shopping there, both personally and professionally...
- Breaking into comics panels were good, though CB Cebulski (who was moderating a food panel) was sorely missed at the Marvel edition. Sending out some copies of Misty soon, so we'll see if I get any bites!
- Picked up some great merchandise, the best item being my Jedi Bathrobe (which will double as a Halloween Costume). Also grabbed some Kirby Krackle Music, a Kill Shakespeare collection and some great books from Two Morrows publishing. Got a Toon Tumbler as well.
The event had over 100,000 attendees, so it was pretty tightly packed. But next year, I plan on going as a pro, which should ameliorate some of the issues. All in all, a great Con and I look forward to next year!
